ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
Yellow Tea Rose Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Jacksonville, Florida, established to advance education, scholarship, leadership development, and community empowerment. Founded in partnership with Gamma Omicron Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., the Foundation serves individuals and families in Jacksonville, Duval County, and the surrounding Northeast Florida region.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking four dedicated community leaders to serve on the inaugural Board of Directors of the Yellow Tea Rose Foundation, Inc. Board members will provide strategic oversight, governance, accountability, and fundraising leadership in support of the Foundation's mission. This is an opportunity to shape the Foundation's direction from the ground floor and make a meaningful impact in Jacksonville and beyond.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide strategic guidance and governance oversight to advance the Foundation's mission
- Support fundraising efforts and help cultivate donor and sponsor relationships
- Serve as an ambassador for the Foundation within your professional and community networks
- Attend bimonthly board meetings (twice per quarter) in person or virtually
- Participate in Foundation initiatives, programs, and community events as applicable
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Professional background in law, finance, banking, healthcare, education, or community development
- Strong community connections and professional visibility in Jacksonville or the Northeast Florida region
- Passion for youth development, education, and community empowerment
- Commitment to diversity and representation across disciplines, ages, genders, and backgrounds
- Remote candidates welcome (up to 2 of 4 open seats); at least one in-person meeting per year required
TIME COMMITMENT
Approximately 5 hours per month, including bimonthly board meetings (2 per quarter) held in person or via Zoom.
TERM
2-year inaugural term: September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2028.
FUNDRAISING EXPECTATION
Board members are expected to fulfill a minimum annual fundraising goal of $1,250 ($2,500 total over the two-year term) through personal outreach, donor cultivation, and sponsorship efforts.
