McLaren Hospice is looking for compassionate, giving people who want to make a difference in the lives of patients with advanced illness and would like to show our hospice patients and their families the impact of small gestures. Simple every days tasks that we all know how to do can truly make a difference!
There is a need to support patients and families in a practical way by assisting with at home tasks such as light housekeeping, yard work and/or meal preparation. This can allow a patient who lives alone to stay in their home longer or help the caregiver concentrate on patient care.
Typical light housekeeping tasks are: dusting, vacuuming, changing bed sheets, doing dishes.
Hospice Volunteer training is provided and no medical experience is necessary.
