Transportation Specialist - Help Deliver Lifesaving Blood with Red Cross

Blood Transportation Specialists are special volunteers that deliver blood products to hospitals around the region and provide the vital link between blood donors and patients who need blood products.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver blood products to hospitals in the area
• Transport blood from our blood collection sites throughout Connecticut to our lab in Farmington for testing and processing
• Use the Red Cross Delivers app to navigate routes and respond quickly to urgent needs

Qualifications:

• A valid state driver's license and proof of insurance
• 3 years driving experience and a clean driving record
• Ability to drive varying distances on all types of roadways
• The ability to lift up to 45 lbs
• A smart phone and be comfortable using a mobile app

** Drivers utilize Red Cross-owned vehicles during self-selected shifts **
