Description: The Volunteer Manager/Mentor will be responsible for mentoring the Data Science interns at Thaddeus. They will direct and lead planning, development and implementation of all of Thaddeus’s date science projects and activities.

Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise and mentor 5 to 10 Data Science interns in the Technical Department
• Oversee and assist in various processes, including but not limited to: specific group projects, data collection, and data interpretation.
• Provide valuable direction and insight to interns regarding patterns and trends in data.
• Help interns propose solutions and strategies to businesses challenges through collected data.

Requirements:

• Have completed a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science or related studies
• 5+ years’ experience working in Data Science or a related field
• Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, such as databases and data storage systems
• Comprehension of different programming languages (Python and Java experience REQUIRED)
• Possess strong personal integrity and ethical principles
• Possess strong organizational, problem-solving and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Time Commitment and Working Conditions:

The responsibilities for this role are performed 100% remotely.

• 5 hrs./week including mandatory meetings
• 1-year minimum
• Must be available for the following VIRTUAL weekly meetings:
  • Weekly All Staff Meeting: Tuesdays 9 - 10 AM PST
  • Weekly Department Meetings: Thursdays 10 AM - 12 PM PST
