    Descrição

Volunteer at our Local Community Farm!

Volunteer at Common Roots Farm with us and get your hands in the soil while you make a meaningful impact in your community! At Common Roots Farm, people with and without disabilities participate on our urban market farm at the base of Pogonip, stewarding the earth using our sustainable small-scale farming methods, receiving gardening education and farm skills training, caring for animals, and creating friendships that sustain everyone.

We grow a variety of organic vegetables, herbs, fruit, and flowers on approximately four acres right in the heart of Santa Cruz, and have a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program that provides members with our produce weekly from late Spring through early Fall.

Volunteers are welcome to join us weekday mornings from March-November on the farm and can participate in a variety of tasks, including preparing beds, planting, weeding, harvesting vegetables, herbs, berries, & flowers, riparian habitat restoration and hedgerow maintenance, animal care, and so much more.

To become a volunteer, please go to the Volunteer page on our website (https://commonrootsfarm.org/

volunteer) and click "Apply to Volunteer." Once you have filled out an application and signed the waiver, we will contact you to set up an orientation. Note: we do not have drop-in volunteer times available or weekend slots.

To bring a volunteer group to the farm, please contact volunteer@commonrootsfarm.org to set something up. Group volunteer days are typically scheduled for a weekday but can occasionally happen on a weekend.

Most areas of our farm are accessible by wheelchair and a walker. If you have any mobility concerns and would like more information, please reach out to us at volunteer@commonrootsfarm.org or check out the Accessibility page on our website (https://commonrootsfarm.org/accessibility).

If you love getting your hands dirty, collaborating with folks of all abilities, and caring for the land that sustains you, Common Roots Farm is the place for you! We can't wait to see you out on the farm!
