First Bloom Event Host: Art in Bloom at BMCA

Be part of the magic before the doors open to the public! The Black Mountain Center for the Arts is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring our exclusive First Bloom evening event to life — a fragrant, elegant sneak peek at Art in Bloom 2026's stunning floral installations.

Whether you're helping set the scene, welcoming guests, or wrapping up a beautiful evening, you'll be behind the scenes of one of Black Mountain's most beloved arts events.

What You'll Do:

• Set up the refreshment and dessert display and prepare the gallery space
• Greet guests and check tickets at the door
• Circulate refreshments and assist guests throughout the evening
• Help with cleanup and breakdown at the end of the night

Requirements:

• Volunteer waiver and emergency contact form (completed before your shift)
• Attendance at the June 15 Volunteer Gathering is encouraged

You're a Great Fit If You:

• Love people and enjoy creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere
• Are comfortable on your feet for a few hours
• Can lift up to 15 lbs. (set-up and breakdown volunteers)

Attire: Dressy casual — spring colors and florals are always welcome! Comfortable shoes and a pin-back name badge required.
