Join CSWC and Portland Parks and Recreation for a day of stewardship Kelley Point Park! Kelley Point Park is uniquely situated at the confluence of three water bodies (the Columbia River, Willamette River and Columbia Slough). The park includes over 100 acres of natural area and hosts a variety of wildlife, including beavers, otters, deer, ospreys, and bald eagles.
At this event we will be lending a hand to mulch our newly planted shrub and tree friends and help them get settled into their new home at Kelley Point Park. This work is particularly important at Kelley Point Park due to its sandy soil and dry summer conditions, making mulching necessary for plants to retain enough moisture in the summer months.
Please dress for the weather, wear sturdy, waterproof shoes, and bring personal water bottle and snacks. Tools, gloves, project instruction, coffee/tea and light snacks will be provided.
Please park in the first paved parking lot on your left after you turn onto N. Kelley Point Park Road. Please do not leave valuables in your car.
TriMet bus #11 stops at N Columbia and Simmons but runs very infrequently on Saturdays! It is 1 mile to the park from there.
Please register for the event in order to be notified for any updates or cancellations!
