    Fundraising Coordinator (Pro Bono)

    Role Overview

    The Fundraising Coordinator is a tactical, volunteer position focused on the successful execution and administrative health of VPMMA's quarterly fundraising campaigns. This role centers on the "gears" of our development efforts: managing digital platforms, ensuring outreach remains on schedule, and tracking incoming support. By maintaining the momentum of active initiatives and funding circles, you ensure VPMMA has the consistent financial resources needed to empower the veteran community.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Campaign Execution: Implement quarterly fundraising campaigns and funding circles by setting up online platforms and managing the digital outreach timeline.
    • Donor Tracking & Records: Maintain the donor database to ensure all new contributions and contact details are recorded accurately, and digital records remain up to date.
    • Growth & Development Collaboration: Partner with the Growth & Development team to implement stewardship activities and provide personalized recognition to supporters.
    • Marketing Integration: Collaborate with the Marketing team to ensure compelling fundraising materials and collateral are ready for distribution according to the campaign calendar.
    • Progress Reporting: Provide the Director of Development with regular updates on campaign milestones, outcomes, and donor growth.
    • Event Logistics: Handle specific logistical tasks for fundraising events, such as tracking sponsorship forms and managing attendee lists.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Experience: Previous experience in fundraising, nonprofit operations, or a volunteer capacity with a focus on campaign execution.
    • Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire support through personalized outreach.
    • Tech Proficiency: Proficiency in donor management software (CRM) and digital fundraising platforms.
    • Administrative Organization: Highly detail-oriented and capable of managing donor data within a 3–5 hour weekly window.
    • Mission Alignment: A strong passion for VPMMA’s mission to support veterans, service members, and military spouses.

    • Reliability: Commit to a regular volunteer schedule and complete assigned tasks promptly.
    • Professionalism: Uphold the VPMMA Code of Conduct, treating all members with respect and dignity.
    • Confidentiality: Protect the privacy of donors and VPMMA proprietary information.
    • Compliance: Adhere to all safety, security, and anti-discrimination guidelines.

    Position Details:

    • Type: Volunteer
    • Location: Remote
    • Directorate: Growth & Development
    • Term: Six months (One-year commitment preferred to maintain consistency and effectiveness in our programs).
    • Time Commitment: Volunteers should aim for 3 to 5 hours per week, with at least 12 hours each month. We understand that some weeks may be less active due to holidays or vacations. Effective communication about your availability helps us remain flexible and ensures smooth operations.
    • Reporting Structure:
      • Direct Report: Director of Fundraising and Strategic Alliance
      • Alternate: Chief Finance Officer
      • Team: Growth & Development Directorate

    The Veteran Project Manager Mentor Alliance (VPMMA) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to guiding military service members, veterans, and their spouses toward excellence in project management. We aim to build a strong, supportive community through mentorship, networking, and professional development, and we strongly believe in the transformative power of project management skills for veterans.
