English Teacher

This volunteer opportunity consists of teaching English in our library to classes of children and young adults (possibly an adult class as well) , and to keep notes regarding the work covered for the next volunteer that arrives. Due to the nature of the work, a minimum 1-month commitment is required. Fluency in Spanish is recommended, however, a base knowledge with a desire to learn will be adequate. There is no fee to volunteer, however the volunteer is responsible for living expenses ... accommodations, food and travel (we have a volunteer house with a low rate for volunteers). The project is located in El Remate, Peten, Guatemala, close to lots of Mayan archeological sites (Tikal, especially). You can get here by flying into Guatemala City or Belize City, where you can catch a bus or another plane to Flores, Peten.
