Volunteering for Sunday Streets is a simple way to connect with your community, and a variety of roles mean there is something for everyone, regardless of physical ability. Spend a day in the sun as an Event Day volunteer, get the word out as a member of the Street Team, or help make the magic happen through work at the Sunday Streets office. We are super excited to announce the roll-out of some new fun activity programs as well as some new volunteer roles this season!

At every Sunday Streets event there’s a variety of health & wellness resources from local community based organizations, music playing in the streets, live performances, as well as fun & engaging activities for all ages to enjoy!
Sunday Streets volunteers will receive the following perks throughout the season:
- Limited-Edition Sunday Streets T-shirt per Sunday Streets season
- Delicious Lunch from various SF food trucks (vegetarian and vegan options available upon request)
- Invitations to Exclusive Livable City Events and the End of Season Volunteer Appreciation Party
- Special Tokens of Appreciation for recurrent volunteers
EVENT DAY
Enjoy choosing from a fun & exciting variety of roles & shift times on event-day.
- Pole Sign Posting & Neighborhood Outreach (PRIOR TO EVENT DAY)
- Set up and/or break down event equipment i.e., Barricades, Cones, Etc.
- Route Assistants – Crossing Guards (Stationed Monitors)
- Route Rabbits (Mobile Monitors during Mile+/Open Streets Events Only)
- Recycling Raven & other Mystery Shifts
- Help build community while engaging in fun outdoor activities
- Fill critical safety roles at Sunday Streets

Welcome to Sunday Streets Western Addition!
Sunday Streets Western Addition is your opportunity to experience the neighborhood in a whole new way—free from cars and full of community connection, activities, and fun! As part of San Francisco’s open streets movement, this event transforms the streets of Western Addition*, into a vibrant space for recreation, culture, and engagement. Join us from 12 PM to 4 PM on September 21st and be part of the celebration!
