    Social Media Lead (Volunteer)

    Position Overview:

    The Wildflower Nest Foundation is seeking a passionate and creative Social Media Lead to join our board of directors in a volunteer capacity. This key role will be instrumental in developing and executing the Foundation’s social media strategy, helping to increase visibility, engage the community, and attract support for our mission of providing shared housing and resources for women in need. The Social Media Lead will oversee the creation and management of engaging content across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn, while building a loyal online community. Volunteers serve on a voluntary basis but may be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred on behalf of the Foundation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    As the Social Media Lead, you will:

    Social Media Strategy & Content Creation:

    • Develop and Implement Strategy: Lead the Foundation’s social media strategy to increase engagement, build brand awareness, and drive online support.
    • Create Compelling Content: Develop, edit, and manage a variety of social media content, including eye-catching graphics, videos, stories, and written posts that align with Wildflower Nest’s mission and goals.
    • Platform-Specific Strategy: Tailor content and strategies for each platform (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, etc.) to ensure maximum engagement and effectiveness.
    • Engage with Audience: Foster meaningful interactions with followers, respond to comments and messages, and build a strong, supportive online community.
    • Track and Analyze Performance: Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to refine strategies, optimize content, and maximize impact.

    Campaign Management & Promotion:

    • Run Campaigns: Create and manage social media campaigns to support fundraising efforts, raise awareness, and encourage donor and volunteer engagement.
    • Event Promotion: Collaborate with the fundraising team to promote events, campaigns, and initiatives across social media platforms. This includes creating promotional content, managing event pages, and tracking RSVPs.
    • Leverage Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and social media best practices to keep content fresh and relevant, using current trends to attract attention and boost engagement.

    Collaborative Leadership:

    • Strategic Board Leadership: Provide direction and guidance as a member of the Board of Directors, collaborating with other members to develop and refine organizational policies and strategies.
    • Active Participation in Meetings: Attend and engage in monthly board meetings via Zoom and contribute to the Annual Board Meeting and Board Planning Session in person.
    • Support Organizational Growth: Work closely with fellow board members and the Foundation’s leadership team to contribute to the growth and sustainability of Wildflower Nest.

    Community Engagement:

    • Advocate the Mission: Actively represent Wildflower Nest's mission on social media, educating the public about the Foundation’s work and amplifying its impact.
    • Foster Partnerships: Engage with external stakeholders, partners, and potential collaborators to expand the Foundation’s reach and influence within the community.

    Qualifications:

    • Commitment to Mission: A demonstrated passion for Wildflower Nest’s mission and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of women and families in need.
    • Experience in Social Media: Proven experience in managing social media platforms, creating content, and building online communities. Experience with social media tools such as Hootsuite, Canva, or similar is a plus.
    • Creative Content Creation: Strong creative skills in producing engaging content (photos, videos, captions) that resonates with diverse audiences.
    • Trend Awareness: Knowledge of current social media trends, viral marketing techniques, and how to apply them to a nonprofit setting.
    • Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the ability to create compelling content and engage an online audience effectively.
    • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in digital tools for content creation, project management, and communication (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Zoom, and social media platforms).
    • Independent & Collaborative: Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment. A self-starter with a passion for the cause.

    Time Commitment:

    • 5-10 hours per month

    Compensation:

    Volunteer Position – While this position is unpaid, volunteers may be reimbursed for reasonable expenditures incurred on behalf of the Foundation.
