Community Outreach Volunteer: Help Amplify the Arts in Somerville & Boston

Do you care about keeping local arts visible and accessible? Join Arts at the Armory as a Community Outreach Volunteer and play a direct role in connecting Greater Boston audiences with live music, performances, and cultural programming.

We’re seeking reliable, energetic volunteers to help distribute posters for our Spotlight Series and other special events throughout Somerville and surrounding neighborhoods. This is grassroots arts marketing at its core: building relationships with local businesses, showing up in the community, and helping ensure artists perform to full, engaged audiences.

What you’ll do:

• Pick up printed materials from Arts at the Armory
• Visit assigned neighborhoods in Somerville and Greater Boston
• Hang posters at approved businesses and community spaces
• Track outreach using a provided checklist

Every poster directly supports working artists and helps sustain a historic, community-centered arts space. Your outreach helps expand access to cultural programming and keeps local arts thriving.

Ideal volunteers are:

• Comfortable walking and being active
• Organized and dependable
• Friendly and respectful when interacting with local businesses
• Interested in arts marketing, community engagement, or grassroots outreach
