The World Disaster Center (WDC) is seeking a Project Manager (Founding Role) to lead the development and execution of the Michael App—a platform designed to deliver real-time disaster support, funding, and coordination to affected populations globally.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on turning vision into execution. The selected candidate will work directly with leadership to build, launch, and scale a system that supports communities during crisis situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of the Michael App (planning, development, launch, and scaling)
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (developers, designers, data teams)
- Define product roadmap, timelines, and deliverables
- Implement agile workflows and track performance (KPIs)
- Support partnerships with NGOs, institutions, and stakeholders
- Identify risks, solve operational challenges, and ensure execution excellence
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years in project or product management
- Experience working on tech platforms or mobile applications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-uncertainty environments
Preferred:
- Experience in humanitarian work, fintech, or global development
- Startup or early-stage project experience
Compensation
This is a performance-based, founding-level opportunity:
- Revenue share: 5% – 12% of net revenue generated by the Michael App
- Tiered growth structure with monthly payouts
