The Director of Community Engagement is a volunteer opportunity with the African American Diabetes Association (AADA. He or she is responsible for connecting the organization to the public and vice-versa. He or she will be creating and implementing community engagement plans that take a strategy from theory to execution.
This person spends their time identifying community partnerships to increase the impact of AADA, networking with individuals and organizations interested in and/or engaged with addressing healthcare inequities.
If you are an outgoing personality, that lights up when meeting new people, sharing the vision of AADA while attending to the details of events, and following up with attendees, this might be a great nonprofit job for you.
Skills needed: Business development experience; knowledge about nonprofit communities, networks, and alliances.
