AccentCare Hospice of Philadelphia is looking for caring hearts to help bring comfort, joy, and connection to our patients and their families.
Just a few hours of your time can truly brighten someone’s day and often, volunteers tell us it brightens their lives too.
Whether you enjoy playing music, praying with others, making supportive calls to grieving families, or sewing memory bears, your unique gifts can make a real impact. We serve patients throughout the Philadelphia area, and we’re actively welcoming new volunteers who want to make meaningful moments happen.
Our volunteers support patients in many special ways:
• Companionship Volunteers: Sit, chat, read, or simply be a comforting presence wherever the patient calls home.
• Music Companions: Share the healing power of music to lift spirits and bring peace.
• Spiritual Companions: Offer faith-based support to patients who request it, complementing the care of our chaplains.
• Legacy Project Volunteers: Help patients and families create treasured keepsakes that celebrate a life well-lived.
• Vigil Volunteers: Provide a calm, supportive presence at the bedside of patients who are nearing the end of life.
No matter your talents or availability, there’s a place for you here.
Even a few hours a month can make an incredible difference. Training is free, flexible, and designed to fit your schedule — and you get to choose how you’d like to serve.
Students ages 15+ are welcomed, too! Teens can volunteer indirectly or partner with a trained volunteer to make facility visits and gain meaningful experience in a supportive environment.
If you feel called to bring comfort, connection, and compassion to others, we would be honored to welcome you to the AccentCare volunteer team. We look forward to hearing from you and helping you discover the perfect way to share your heart with those at the end of life.
