Kazoza Initiative Association is a nonprofit based in Bujumbura, Burundi. Since 2016, we have been committed to empowering vulnerable children and youth through:
- School sponsorship for orphans and vulnerable children
- Holiday Programs (Vacances Utiles) for education and empowerment
- Hospital visits to support sick children
- Youth mentoring and training
We are expanding our reach and need strong, professional communication to engage NGOs, donors, institutions, churches, and individuals in our mission.
Role Description
We are seeking a Writer/Editor Volunteer to support us in improving the clarity, professionalism, and impact of our official documents. These include proposals, donor communications, partnership requests, project reports, and promotional materials.
Responsibilities
- Edit and refine official documents (letters, reports, proposals, presentations)
- Ensure documents are clear, concise, and tailored to international audiences
- Help develop templates and guidelines for consistent communication
- Collaborate with our team to draft new documents as needed
- Strengthen the overall professional image of the organization through written communication
Requirements
- Strong writing and editing skills in English (French is a plus)
- Experience with nonprofit, grant, or professional writing preferred
- Attention to detail and ability to convey messages clearly and persuasively
- Reliable and able to meet deadlines
- Passion for child development, education, and community empowerment
Time Commitment
- Flexible, approx. 2–4 hours per week (remote work possible)
