If you're a good communicator and have a heart for children, you might make a great CASA volunteer! CASA volunteers are appointed by local judges to advocate for children who have been abused or neglected. Volunteers meet monthly with the children they're appointed to serve and provide written reports to the court at regular intervals, making recommendations for services that might help the children heal from their trauma -- and ultimately weighing in on where they think it's safest for those children to live: with parents who have made significant improvements, with other loving relatives or with an adoptive family.
The schedule for Rappahannock CASA's next training session for advocates is as follows (attendance for all dates is mandatory):
We have a Lafayette Blvd address, but our front door is actually on Jackson Street, next to the red chair.
Information about our program can be found on our website. For a volunteer application, please email us at rappcasa@gmail.com or give us a holler at 540-710-6199.
