CBS Food Program services, day cares, schools, after school programs, summer camps and other non-profit organizations throughout the region, delivering fresh and delicious meals and snacks at low, or no cost.
CBS Food Program serves approximately 6,500 children at over 175 locations throughout the region. Since its inception in 2001, CBS Food Program provides 100% Kosher Certified meals and is now working to expand its Halal offerings.

The CBS Food Program Board of Directors works to provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by CBS Food Program’s chief executive officer (CEO), the Board-CEO relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for an individual who is passionate about CBS Food Program’s mission and who has a track record of board leadership. Selected Board Members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector. Their accomplishments will allow them to find partnership opportunities to expand the impact and reach of CBS Food Program and to attract other well-qualified, high-performing Board Members. Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
Service on CBS Food Program’s Board of Directors is without remuneration, except for administrative support, travel, and accommodation costs in relation to Board Members’ duties.
Term and Expectations:
CBS Food Program’s Board Members will serve a three-year term to be eligible for re-appointment for up to two additional terms. Board meetings will be held quarterly and committee meetings will be held in coordination with full board meetings.
Fundraising:
CBS Food Program Board Members are not currently required to make any financial contribution. However, in the event CBS Food Program begins fundraising in earnest, Board Members will consider CBS Food Program as a philanthropic priority and make annual gifts that reflect that priority. At such time, and in order for CBS Food Program to credibly solicit contributions from foundations, organizations, and individuals, CBS Food Program will expect to have 100 percent of Board Members make an annual contribution that is commensurate with their capacity.
