Each year, we host a 500+ attendee convention that brings together professionals, community leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, students, and allies to share stories, build connections, and inspire collective action.
Overview of Role
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing volunteer to support our upcoming Asian-American Professional Conference in Philadelphia by building relationships with local restaurants, cafes, and businesses. This individual will play a key role in securing discounts, sponsorships, and promotional partnerships that enhance the attendee experience and strengthen community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify local restaurants, cafes, retailers, and service providers aligned with our audience.
- Conduct outreach via email, phone, and in-person visits to request discounts, promotional deals, or sponsorship contributions.
- Clearly communicate the conference mission, audience demographics, and partnership benefits.
- Track outreach efforts and responses in a shared document or CRM.
- Coordinate details of agreed-upon promotions (e.g., discount codes, flyers, gift cards, sponsored items).
- Maintain professional and positive relationships with business partners.
- Collaborate with the conference planning team to ensure partnerships are properly promoted.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with cold outreach (email, phone, in-person).
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Professional, courteous, and enthusiastic.
- Familiarity with the Philadelphia business community is a plus.
- Interest in supporting Asian-American professional development and community initiatives.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 5-10 hours per week (flexible schedule).
- Commitment through July 20, 2026.
