City of Irvine Older Adults Services are in search of a volunteer to promote and support Billiard Room community games in an encouraging and courteous manner.
Open Billiards Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.
Hours: Shifts assigned based upon availability
Duties:
- Provide liaison to Senior Center Staff.
- Promote and support billiard room information, rules, and donations.
- Remind participants to follow all posted rules and regulations using Billiard Congress of America rules as a guideline and the majority interest of game style preferred by the participating players.
- Communicate with staff about any issues, concerns, or maintenance needs.
- Welcome all newcomers, assist newcomers with play only upon request.
- Maintain Billiard room cleanliness.
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
- Ability to communicate clearly with staff.
- Knowledge of Billiards, and interpersonal skills.
- A willingness and ability to help others and work with members with
various skill levels and from various cultures.
Requirements:
- Age 50+ years or older
- Interview and attend Billiard Ambassador training with lead staff prior to start date.
- Good communication skills with participants and staff.
- Must volunteer a minimum of two hours per week and provide a schedule.
- Attend monthly Billiard Ambassador volunteer meetings
