Under the California Rules of Court, qualified and experienced attorneys may volunteer their time to serve as part of the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara's Temporary Judge Program. Temporary Judges are appointed and serve at the discretion of the Court.
The Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara is pleased to announce that a session of Bench Conduct and Demeanor for Temporary Judges will be offered on February 6, 2026, from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. Judge Sunil Kulkarni and Judge Lori Pegg will serve as the instructors for this live remote class, which is required to serve as a temporary judge.
The course is open to members of the State Bar who serve as or intend to apply to serve as a court-appointed temporary judge. This course has been approved to provide three hours of MCLE credit, including .50 credit for ethics and .50 for elimination of bias. Please note that video and audio capabilities are required to participate in this interactive class.
