HR Assistant volunteer

About the role

Creshendo is looking for a caring, detail-oriented, and people-focused HR Assistant volunteer to join our HR Team. This person will play a vital role in building and nurturing our growing community of volunteers—helping us find the right people, support them through onboarding and offboarding, and co-create a meaningful and engaging volunteer experience.

You’ll work closely with team leads and current volunteers, ensuring each person feels welcomed, valued, and connected to Creshendo’s mission from day one. This is a people-facing role ideal for someone who thrives on communication, organization, and building bridges between individuals and purpose.

Responsibilities:

• Support the recruitment process: help post volunteer listings, screen applicants, and schedule intro calls.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding: lead onboarding calls and support smooth volunteer transitions.
• Support volunteer engagement: help implement small-scale initiatives to boost connection, recognition, and team spirit.
• Support multiple HR projects: assist with recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and volunteer experience projects.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication and organizational skills
• A warm, empathetic approach to working with people from diverse backgrounds
• Familiarity with spreadsheets, scheduling, and remote communication tools
• Experience in HR, volunteer coordination, or community management (preferred)
• A proactive, supportive attitude and willingness to learn
