Cat Foster
Detalhes
Descrição
Tiny Cat Animal Rescue is seeking volunteer fosters to provide temporary homes for cats and kittens in need. As a fully foster-based rescue, every cat we save depends on someone willing to open their home, even temporarily. Foster volunteers give cats a safe place to rest, recover, and adjust to home life while our team works to find them a permanent adopter.
Many of our fosters worry they’ll get too attached, but helping a cat find a safe, permanent home is one of the most rewarding parts of fostering!
Our greatest need is for fosters who can care for cats until they are adopted, but we also welcome fosters who are able to help for shorter periods during emergencies or while another foster is away. Even fostering for a few days—such as covering for another foster during travel—can make a real difference.
Common Questions About Fostering
- No prior experience required. Many of our fosters are first-time cat caregivers. Our team will guide you through the process and provide support along the way.
- Apartments and smaller homes. Many foster cats do very well in apartments or smaller homes.
- Full-time work schedules. Many of our fosters work full-time, and most cats are perfectly comfortable spending the day relaxing while you’re at work.
- Homes with resident pets. Many of our fosters have resident pets. Our team will help determine which placements are most likely to be a good fit for your home.
What You’ll Do
- Provide a safe, indoor foster home for a cat or kittens
- Provide daily care (food, water, litter box, and social interaction)
- Share updates and photos to help promote the cat for adoption
- Coordinate meet-and-greets with potential adopters when possible
- Communicate with the rescue team about updates or questions
What We Provide
- Veterinary care and medications

Commitment
Foster placements can range from a few days to several weeks or until adoption, depending on the needs of the cat and your availability. Short-term, emergency, and community-cat foster opportunities are also available.
What Happens After You Apply
Submitting a foster application does not necessarily mean you will receive a cat right away. After you sign up, a member of our team will schedule a short call to learn more about your home, lifestyle, and preferences and to answer any questions about our foster program.
If we have a cat that seems like a good fit at that time, we may be able to place a cat with you right away. If not, you’ll be added to our list of available fosters and we’ll reach out when a placement that fits your home and availability arises.
Even if you’re not ready to foster immediately, applying ahead of time helps us place cats more quickly when a need comes up.
