Hospice Volunteers make a difference!!

Care Central VNA & Hospice is looking for kind, compassionate individuals to share their time with hospice patients. The requirements are few but vitally important. An open heart and a bit of time is all that is needed. Sounds simple, but it is exactly what is needed for you to make a profound difference in a patient’s life.

Hospice Volunteer provide companionship and support to our hospice patients and their families. Companionship is provided by sitting with the patient and talking about life reviews, playing music for them, sitting with them outside in the nice weather, reading to them or just being a presence with them. As simple as that!

Currently we are looking for volunteers to visit with patients in their own homes or in long-term care facilities in the Gardner area and surrounding towns.

• • Companionship volunteers do not perform any clinical activities with patients such as feeding, toileting, bathing or transferring.
  • Volunteers schedule their own visits - day/time that works with the patient’s schedule.
  • Full training and support are provided.
