Hospice Volunteer Opportunity - 77029!

Nova Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide companionship and emotional support to patients residing in skilled nursing facilities. Many of our patients face loneliness and would greatly benefit from the presence of a caring, friendly visitor.

What You’ll Do

Volunteers serve as a comforting presence by:

• Visiting patients to offer companionship and conversation
• Reading aloud, playing music, or sharing hobbies
• Providing emotional support and a listening ear
• Sitting with patients who may not have frequent visitors
• Assisting with letter writing, journaling, or life review conversations

No medical care is required—your presence and kindness make the greatest impact.

• Compassionate, reliable, and patient
• Comfortable visiting older adults or those with serious illness
• Good listeners with a heart for service
• Able to pass a background check and complete volunteer training
