    Descrição

Specialist in Solidarity Funding & Grant Applications (Volunteer)

Every great project needs resources to truly take flight. For YouthShare Initiatives, securing funding means bringing our dearest ambitions to life and transforming potential into tangible change for young people in Sub-Saharan Africa. We have an urgent and inspiring need for two passionate Specialists in Solidarity Funding & Grant Applications to join our dedicated volunteer team in France. Your expertise will be the engine that fuels our programs, identifying and securing the essential financial resources to empower young leaders, expand our reach, and amplify our impact on communities. You'll be the architect who translates our vision into concrete, funded realities.

    Key Volunteer Responsibilities

As a Specialist in Solidarity Funding & Grant Applications, your volunteer contribution will involve:

    • Exploring new funding avenues: Researching and identifying potential funding opportunities from foundations, governmental bodies, corporate social responsibility programs, and other solidarity funds, both in France and internationally.
    • Crafting impactful proposals: Collaborating closely with our program teams to understand their needs, then transforming these ideas into compelling and perfectly structured grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and concept notes.
    • Writing with conviction: Drafting, editing, and refining grant applications that captivate, ensuring perfect alignment with funder guidelines and YouthShare Initiatives' mission.
    • Aligning budgets with dreams: Working with our financial teams to develop accurate and justified project budgets, in perfect harmony with grant requirements.
    • Laying the groundwork for future partnerships: Identifying potential new funding partners and contributing to the initial research phase for future fruitful engagements.
    • Contributing to impact reports: Assisting in preparing progress reports for funders, detailing the impact of our actions and our financial accountability.
    • Organizing strategic information: Maintaining an organized database of grant opportunities, submission deadlines, and application statuses.

    Qualifications

We're looking for individuals who are not only skilled but, most importantly, deeply committed to our cause:

    • Passion for our Mission: A genuine and ardent interest in youth empowerment and sustainable development in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Fundraising Experience: Proven experience in grant research, proposal writing, and successful grant applications, ideally within the non-profit sector.
    • Analytical Mindset: Strong ability to research, synthesize information, and understand funder priorities.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to craft powerful, persuasive narratives.
    • Language Proficiency: Fluency or native-level proficiency in both French and English (written and spoken) is essential, as this role involves working with a French-speaking team and engaging with international funders.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using research tools and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace). Familiarity with fundraising CRM systems is a plus.
    • Autonomy & Proactivity: Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and take initiative in a remote environment.

    Time Commitment

We're looking for a commitment of approximately 6-12 hours per week per volunteer, with flexibility to accommodate your schedule. This is a remote volunteer position, but regular virtual team meetings will be organized to ensure strong collaboration and mutual support.

What You'll Gain as a Volunteer

By joining YouthShare Initiatives, you will:

    • Make a Real, Tangible Impact: Directly contribute to securing the vital resources that will empower thousands of young people and drive sustainable change in Sub-Saharan Africa. Your work will have a concrete resonance.
    • Develop Cutting-Edge Expertise: Enhance your skills in fundraising strategy, grant management, and non-profit development within a dynamic international context.
    • Gain Invaluable Experience: Acquire practical experience in a high-impact role that is absolutely crucial for the growth and sustainability of social impact organizations.
    • Join a Vibrantly Energetic Community: Become part of a passionate, dedicated, and collaborative team of volunteers, united by a shared vision.
