Job Title: Board Member- Volunteer (Remote)
Organization: Needs Beyond Medicine
Location: Remote (Preferably residing in Utah)
Mission Statement:
Needs Beyond Medicine is committed to providing comprehensive support for cancer patients by offering financial assistance for essential living needs and promoting early detection through educational outreach.
Purpose:
To advise and assist with the leadership and general promotion of Needs Beyond Medicine (NBM) in support of the organization’s mission, programs, and needs.
General Board Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate membership and organizational records for the Board of Directors.
- Provide guidance and assistance for programs and initiatives.
- Promote NBM within the community.
- Facilitate community engagement and outreach efforts.
- Focus on fundraising and securing financial support.
Members of the Board Agree to:
- Act in the best interests of Needs Beyond Medicine.
- Provide recommendations based on expertise and community insights.
Length of Term:
- Standard term: Two years, renewable for one additional consecutive term upon board approval.
- Optional: A one-year term is available for willing candidates.
Meetings and Time Commitment:
- Monthly meetings, alternating between virtual and in-person formats.
- Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. and last approximately 90 minutes.
- Board members are expected to promote two signature events annually, including the Karen P. Brown Relief Golf Tournament and canSURVIVE, and actively participate in additional fundraising events.
Financial Commitment:
Board Members are asked to make an annual donation of $3,000.00 to demonstrate their commitment to the organization’s mission and long-term success.
