Power Read Lead (PRL) Volunteer

Do you love to read? Do you want to help ensure that kids do too? We are looking for passionate PRLs for fall! Power Read is a reading and mentoring program designed to get kids excited about reading and books. Adult mentors are matched one-to-one with elementary age students, and they read together at school, usually over lunch. Power Read Lead (PRL) Volunteers help coordinate Power Read programs at schools and sites in and around Des Moines. The PRL makes matches, communicates with mentors and school staff, and oversees their program. The time commitment is a few hours per week and is very flexible. Basic Google Drive skills and enthusiasm for reading is all you need!
