Thank you for your interest in volunteering with our basic needs pantry, Neighbor 2 Neighbor! We prepare and share bags of food (pantry staples + fresh produce) and diapers with low-income seniors, families, and immunocompromised East Austin neighbors. All volunteer activities are conducted according to recommended social distancing protocols, including the use of masks and gloves (provided upon request).
Please sign up for shifts at tiny.cc/welcometable and contact volunteer@welcometableaustin.org with any questions.
VOLUNTEER JOBS
Move up to 3,000 pounds of pantry staples and produce. These shifts involve lifting and pushing/pulling dollies, so wear weather-appropriate athletic clothes.
Small groups pack pantry staples, fresh produce and diapers using CTFB-required safety protocols, and set up for afternoon service.
Volunteers help us check-in and distribute orders to neighbors.
Pick up diapers from the Austin Diaper Bank and transport to St. James Episcopal Church where helpers will be available to unload. An SUV or truck is required. The diaper bank is located at 2210 Denton Dr, Suite 103, Austin, TX 78758.
Unload, sort, and store diapers at St. James'.
St. James' Episcopal Church, 1941 Webberville Road, is the meet-up point for all shifts and roles, with the exception of diaper pickup from the Austin Diaper Bank.
