Overnight program participants are walking in the footsteps of a true Midway Sailor, sleeping in authentic Navy bunks, eating breakfast on board, and much more!
Youth Program Volunteers provide brief talks on the functions and/or history of this landmark ship. Interact with guests at chat stations in behind-the-scenes tours of this "city at sea". Option to spend the night, or not. The Midway is dedicated to providing programs to educate and strengthen our future generations. Youth groups and families from all over the area are welcomed to participate in various enriching, interactive programs onboard.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes: one event per month, includes an evening shift and a morning shift. There is the option of spending the night on board.
Required Skills/Experience: Some experience working with youth is preferred. Civilians and veterans encouraged to apply! Volunteers must be friendly, articulate, have the ability to climb ship’s ladders, and be a minimum of 18 years of age. Screening includes a Livescan background check.
