Together we have reached out to almost a thousand NGOs in the Global South about our suite of pro bono consulting services and the possibility of hosting a SEVA Traveler. SEVA Travelers offers host organizations across Nigeria, spanning Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Bauchi, Enugu, Gboko, Ibadan, Jos, and Warri. These placements give volunteers the opportunity to support diverse, community-driven initiatives addressing youth empowerment, education, gender equality, healthcare access, environmental sustainability, and justice reform. Volunteers will work alongside innovative nonprofits that are building stronger fundraising systems, donor relationships, and storytelling strategies — all while experiencing Nigeria’s vibrant culture, entrepreneurial energy, and social impact ecosystem.

Boys Mentoring Advocacy Network (BMAN) – Lagos, Nigeria
BMAN empowers boys and young men to become responsible, compassionate leaders through education, mentoring, and advocacy programs such as FAST Festival (Father and Son Together), Underwear for Needy Boys, and Being a Man Marathon Relay. Volunteers will help refine fundraising campaigns, enhance digital storytelling, and design donor engagement strategies for international supporters. There’s also opportunity to assist in branding, sponsorship outreach, and scaling BMAN’s youth development initiatives across Africa.
Centre for HIV/AIDS and STD Research (CHISTRE) – Bauchi State, Nigeria
CHISTRE works to bridge the health gap in remote Nigerian communities through education, testing, and access to life-saving healthcare. Volunteers will support the organization in developing compelling fundraising campaigns, building partnerships with global health donors, and strengthening donor communication. There’s also opportunity to assist with proposal writing, impact reporting, and community engagement storytelling that emphasizes CHISTRE’s life-changing work.
Buhknom Development Foundation (BDF) – Abuja, Nigeria
BDF transforms lives in underserved communities through education, health, clean water, and women’s empowerment. Volunteers will help design a multi-channel fundraising strategy, build donor databases, and strengthen grant proposal templates. They’ll also support staff training in donor cultivation, storytelling, and campaign design, helping BDF expand its reach and impact sustainably.
Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) – Abuja, Nigeria
WEWE supports widows, orphans, and vulnerable populations through education, training, and income-generating programs. Volunteers will assist in developing a fundraising database/CRM system, designing crowdfunding campaigns, and creating strategies for donor retention. There’s also opportunity to help design WEWE’s online NGO School fundraising plan and social enterprise model.
Helpers Social Development Foundation – Enugu, Nigeria
Helpers Foundation promotes education, clean water, and community health across rural Nigeria. Volunteers will assist in digital communications, website enhancement, and donor outreach campaigns for the organization’s school projects and water initiatives. They may also support video storytelling and campaign strategy to attract new supporters and funding for infrastructure projects.
Rural Watch Africa Initiative (RUWAI) – Abuja, Nigeria
RUWAI empowers rural communities through advocacy, health, and education. Volunteers will help shape a comprehensive fundraising system, train local staff in donor engagement, and design monitoring and reporting tools. They’ll also support grant proposal development and communication materials to strengthen RUWAI’s presence among global partners.
Gender Equality Club Nigeria (GEC) – Gboko, Nigeria
GEC promotes gender equality and STEM education through initiatives like the STEM Hub Lab Project and Afri Web Tech-Support Project. Volunteers will help build fundraising strategies for technology-driven education programs, identify potential funders, and develop online campaigns. They’ll also create marketing materials and partnerships to expand the reach of GEC’s digital empowerment initiatives.
Serendipity Healthcare Foundation – Kano, Nigeria
Serendipity works to improve healthcare access and outcomes for underserved populations. Volunteers will assist in creating a fund development plan, strategic roadmap, and new website to strengthen visibility and donor engagement.
Environmental and Rural Mediation Centre (ENVIRUMEDIC) – Warri, Nigeria
ENVIRUMEDIC focuses on environmental justice, rural livelihoods, and health equity. Volunteers will support social media marketing strategies, grant proposal development, and digital visibility improvements to reach global funders.
Ajoke Ayisat Afolabi Foundation (AAAF) – Lagos, Nigeria
AAAF is launching a transformative Economic Village initiative to empower vulnerable populations through skills training, entrepreneurship, and community development. Volunteers will help develop a fundraising strategy for the proposed endowment fund, build corporate partnerships, and craft compelling storytelling materials to attract social investors and donors.
Divine Act Charitable Trust (DACT) – Ibadan, Nigeria
DACT serves vulnerable populations through education, social welfare, and community support. Volunteers will help identify international funders, draft high-quality proposals, and develop an actionable fundraising plan that strengthens donor relations and long-term sustainability.
Girls Education Mission International – Jos, Nigeria
This organization champions girls’ education and leadership development. Volunteers will provide training in fundraising, donor communications, and CRM setup. They’ll also help design a monitoring and evaluation framework and develop digital campaigns to expand GEM’s global reach.
Headfort Foundation for Justice – Lagos, Nigeria
Headfort provides free legal aid for indigent inmates, ensuring fair access to justice. Volunteers will support storytelling campaigns, donor outreach, and public awareness initiatives that highlight Headfort’s success in freeing inmates. There’s also opportunity to develop fundraising strategies to meet their ambitious 2025 target of releasing 300 beneficiaries.
SocietalLens Initiative – Kano, Nigeria
SocietalLens drives youth empowerment, civic engagement, and digital inclusion. Volunteers will help strengthen fundraising systems, provide grant writing support, and train the executive team in donor cultivation. There’s also opportunity to lead digital marketing and social media storytelling for greater visibility.
