    About the Role

    The Executive Vice President of Operation is responsible for providing comprehensive support to the Chief Operating Officer, and managing the organization’s operations leadership team/department, including working remotely with the Restoring.Our.Youth.Organization team. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Executive Vice President of Operation position can be altered anytime at the discretion of the COO or CED.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Assist the COO and the Organization in achieving the organization overall mission, values, and strategic goals.
    • Lead, guide, direct, and evaluate the work of other employees, such as Directors and staff, and ensure a healthy working environment.
    • Contribute to program innovations, strategic business development, and the profitability of the organization as determined by the organization strategic goals.
    • Evaluate the success of the organization in achieving its goals and assisting in formulating plans to correct any issues if the organization is not achieving its goals.
    • Assist in maximizing the organization operating performance and achieving its financial goals.
    • Manage Department finances, identifying ways to increase revenue and decrease costs, analyzing financial reports as provided, and preparing operating budgets.
    • Sign documents and make commitments for which the Organization is legally liable at the discretion of the COO or CED.
    • Maintain awareness of competitors, expansion opportunities, target markets, and new industry developments and standards.

    What You Bring to the Role

    • Must be located in the United States (Chicago/Chicagoland area preferred).
    • Must agree with and be committed to upholding the R.O.Y. Organization’s Motto Statement, Statement of Values, Mission, and Vision.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership or 1–2 years of experience in a relevant field.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent research and organizational abilities.
    • Proven ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Demonstrated experience planning, organizing, and managing daily activities and administrative functions in a fast-paced, highly visible, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced use of PowerPoint, spreadsheets, graphics, and other business management software; ability to learn new systems quickly.
    • Flexible and adaptable, able to work effectively in a high-change, quick-paced environment.
    • Basic knowledge of nonprofit finance, accounting, operations, policies, and procedures — or willingness to learn.
    • Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Self-motivated, able to take direction and carry responsibilities through to completion.
    • Ability to independently make a wide variety of organizational arrangements, even from brief instructions.
    • Available for occasional travel when needed.
    • Engaging/responsive, and proactive communication
    • Proficient in Google Suite and open to learning new tools.
    • Adaptable, collaborative, and self-motivated
    • Establish and maintain highly professional effective working relationships with senior management, and other appointed officials, including staff, community and business leaders, donors, board members, and others encountered in the course of work
    • Use a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive situations and concerned groups and/or individuals
