About Migrant Support Collective
Migrant Support Collective (MSC) is a fiscally sponsored project of Organized Communities Against Deportations (OCAD). MSC runs direct service and advocacy programs dedicated to supporting the well-being of migrants detained in the United States. By advocating for the rights of those impacted by the immigration detention system, we strive towards a future of collective liberation, where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect.
MSC is based in Chicago, and operates on both a local and national level. Volunteers may be located anywhere, so long as they are consistently available for zoom meetings.
About Migrant Support Collective’s Fundraising Goals
- For FY26 (January – December 2026), MSC has a fundraising goal of approximately $360,000. Fundraising Committee members will be responsible for helping MSC meet our fundraising goals.
- A major goal for FY26 is to build a wide base of small recurring donors.
Fundraising Committee Member Duties
- Meet monthly with the Fundraising Committee
- Recruit at least 10 new monthly donors, at any amount, by the end of May 2026
- Thank and acknowledge donor and sponsor gifts by making calls and sending letters
- Assist with grassroots fundraising campaigns by participating in phone banks, overseeing volunteers as needed, and assisting with campaign logistics such as securing event space or food donations
- Ideally, members will have some prior experience in development or fundraising; but no worries if not! They should just be committed to learning about it.
- Estimated time per month: 3-5 hours
- In June, due to the Pride and Immigrant Heritage Month Campaign, this time will be on the higher end of this estimate due to additional meetings and grassroots fundraising.
