Help us build a community of changemakers!
At KBI, our volunteers aren't just helping out—they're part of a movement to democratize STEM education and bridge cultures through learning. We're looking for a Volunteer Talent Community Coordinator who understands that meaningful community doesn't happen by accident; it requires intention, care, and systems that help people feel valued and connected.
This is a role for someone who sees the potential in every person and knows how to match skills with opportunities. Your coordination will help build a thriving volunteer ecosystem where everyone's contributions are recognized and their growth is supported.
What you will do
You will be the heartbeat of our volunteer community. This means coordinating talent management office operations so nothing falls through the cracks, recruiting and onboarding volunteers with warmth and clarity, maintaining our talent database so we can celebrate every contribution, matching skills to organizational needs so people work on what they love, organizing recognition programs that honor our community's dedication, supporting professional development so volunteers grow alongside KBI, and facilitating communication that keeps our community connected and informed.
You might be a great fit if
You're energized by people and genuinely care about their growth and experience. You're organized but flexible, systematic but human. You notice when someone's contributions go unrecognized and when someone's skills aren't being fully utilized. You want to create a volunteer experience where people don't just give their time—they find belonging, purpose, and development.
What you will get out of this
This is a chance to build community management and HR skills while directly shaping volunteer experiences. You'll gain hands-on experience in talent coordination, database management, and program development while working with a diverse, passionate team. You'll see firsthand how your systems and care transform individual volunteers into a cohesive community.
Why this role matters
Volunteers are the lifeblood of KBI. Without someone dedicated to coordinating, supporting, and celebrating our talent community, we lose the human connection that makes our mission possible. Your work ensures that every volunteer feels valued, connected, and empowered to contribute their best.
