Position Summary
The Marketing Intern provides essential creative and administrative support to the marketing team. You will assist in promoting PWP’s mission through social media, digital storytelling, and community outreach. This role is designed to be a learning experience where you will help execute campaigns that attract funders, recruit mentees, and engage the community.
Operating within the MOCHA framework, you serve as a Helper (H) to the Marketing Director and Coordinators, executing tasks related to content creation, scheduling, and data tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Creation
- Content Development: Assist in creating branded graphics, flyers, and digital assets using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
- Video Editing: Assist in editing Reels, TikToks, and testimonial videos that tell impactful stories of mentees and mentors.
- Scheduling: Help manage the monthly content calendar and schedule posts to ensure consistent online presence (3–5 posts per week).
Brand Engagement & Storytelling
- Testimonials: Assist in collecting and organizing success stories, quotes, and photos from program participants and parents for use in newsletters and campaigns.
- Community Interaction: Monitor social media channels for comments and messages, engaging with followers to boost community interaction under supervision.
Event & Campaign Support
- Event Marketing: Support the promotion of major events (e.g., Diamonds of Prosperity Cotillion, End-of-Year Gala) by creating countdowns, highlight reels, and event recaps.
- Outreach: Assist in designing marketing materials for fundraising campaigns and school recruitment drives.
Administrative & Analytics
- Reporting: Track social media analytics (likes, shares, growth) and assist in preparing monthly performance reports for the Marketing Director.
- Asset Management: Organize and maintain the digital library of photos, videos, and logos in OneDrive/SharePoint.
Outcomes & KPIs
- Consistency: Assist in maintaining a regular posting schedule of 3–5 posts per week across all platforms.
- Growth: Contribute to a quarterly increase in social media engagement and followers through consistent interaction.
- Asset Creation: Deliver at least 2–3 new video edits (Reels/TikToks) per month highlighting PWP programs.
- Timeliness: Ensure all assigned graphics and newsletters are drafted and submitted for review 48 hours before publication.
Qualifications
- Education: Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or Public Relations.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Canva (or Adobe Creative Suite), social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn), and basic video editing tools (CapCut).
- Communication: Strong written verbal communication skills; ability to write engaging captions and newsletters.
- Creativity: A keen eye for design and visual storytelling.
Expectations & Commitment
- Time Commitment: Estimated 5–10 hours per week. Flexible scheduling with occasional evening/weekend availability for event coverage.
- Professionalism: Must adhere to PWP’s brand voice and guidelines in all public communications.
- Confidentiality: Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) regarding internal strategies and donor information.
