Volunteer with Intercessory Organisation Network Limited (ION)
Intercessory Organisation Network Limited (ION) is a Zambian non-profit organization committed to empowering communities through sustainable development, education, livelihoods, health, and strategic partnerships. We work with rural and underserved communities to create lasting social and economic impact through practical, community-led solutions.
We welcome passionate local and international volunteers from diverse professional backgrounds, including community development, education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, child growth monitoring and nutrition, public health, project management, communications, fundraising, information technology, environmental conservation, monitoring and evaluation, and youth empowerment.
As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful initiatives such as vocational skills training, agricultural development, early childhood and nutrition programs, community outreach, organizational capacity building, research, proposal development, and partnership initiatives. Whether you are a student, recent graduate, experienced professional, or retiree, your knowledge and skills can help strengthen communities and create sustainable change.
ION values cultural exchange and believes that volunteering should also be an opportunity to experience the richness of Southern Africa. Volunteers may choose to participate in optional cultural and eco-tourism experiences, including a safari to the Okavango Delta in Botswana, one of the world's most remarkable wetlands and wildlife destinations. These experiences are arranged separately from volunteer activities, are subject to availability, and all associated travel costs are the responsibility of the volunteer.
