"Over the Edge" Rappelling Fundraiser "Ropes" Volunteers

We’re seeking a small team of dedicated volunteers to serve as “Ropes Crew” for our exciting Over the Edge fundraising event in Manchester, NH!

Over the Edge is a one-of-a-kind community fundraiser where approximately 120 participants rappel down a 24-story building at 1000 Elm Street, raising funds for our organization and more than 20 nonprofit partners. It’s a high-energy, highly visible event—and the ropes crew plays a critical role in making it happen safely and smoothly.

Volunteer Role: Ropes Crew

Ropes volunteers support the technical side of the rappelling experience by helping manage ropes and staging areas under the supervision of trained professionals.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with rope management on the roof or ground level
• Supporting the safe and efficient flow of rappellers
• Following direction from professional rope technicians and event staff
• Staying attentive and engaged throughout the day in an active environment

Schedule & Commitment

• Monday, June 22: ~4-hour training shift (exact time TBD)
• Tuesday, June 23: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM (full-day commitment required)

✅ Bonus: Volunteers will have the opportunity to rappel themselves at the end of the June 22 training shift!

Important Requirements

• Must be able to commit to both days
• Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods
• Able to perform light to moderate physical activity
• Comfortable working outdoors in the sun and at heights (if assigned to roof)
• Reliable, attentive, and able to follow safety instructions closely
