Below, you’ll find an overview of this volunteer role, its qualifications and a short video showcasing the impact you can have. When you’re ready to apply, you’ll create an email loginand agree to a criminal background check as part of our screening process (focused on theft and violence prevention). Please note that this role does not fulfill court-mandated community service hours.

Role Overview:

Take the driver’s seat and help deliver hope. As a Blood Transportation Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in transporting lifesaving blood products from Red Cross distribution centers to hospitals. You’ll use a Red Cross vehicle, and while the training is free, the difference you make is priceless.

Position Qualifications:

• Commit to 2-4 shifts per month (shift availability varies by location).
• Hold a valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Have at least three years of driving experience with a clean driving record.
• Be able to lift up to 45 lbs.
