Hospice Hearts Needed For Companionship in the Gibsonton Area!

A hospice heart is one that is full of compassion, and that is exactly what we need here at AccentCare. As a volunteer with our organization you can expect to spend heartwarming moments and develop fond relationships with our patients as they go through their end of life journey.

There are many different opportunities available through AccentCare - all of them working towards the same goal of making sure each of our patients receive the best service possible.

Direct patient facing volunteers can expect:

• Providing companionship on a weekly (or biweekly) basis.
• Developing friendships with the elderly community.
• Taking part in activities such as board games, walking, listening to music, reading aloud, etc.
• Ensuring the wellbeing of the patient.
• Lend your ear to listen to life stories

Patient facing volunteers do not provide medical care in any capacity. Volunteers do not lift, bathe, groom, feed, medicate or anything of that nature.

Indirect volunteers can expect:

• Helping side by side in the office
• Calling patients/caregivers directly to check on their needs.
• Crafts (if you have the capability)
• File auditing and other office projects.

We are always in need of sewers to help with our Memory Bear legacy projects, where we turn a patients clothes into a teddy bear for the family to cherish for years to come!
