Help us capture the spark of discovery!
At KBI, every event, every student breakthrough, every "aha moment" deserves to be seen and shared. We're looking for a Volunteer Media Editor who understands that compelling visual storytelling can inspire the next generation of innovators and make learning feel electric.
This is a role for someone who knows that the right edit, the perfect frame, and intentional pacing can transform raw footage into moments that move people. Your work will help showcase the human side of technology education and invite others into our community.
What you will do
You will be the visual storyteller behind KBI's most memorable moments. This means editing photos and videos that bring our events, competitions, and learning experiences to life, producing engaging multimedia content optimized for social media and campaigns, maintaining visual quality standards that reflect our commitment to excellence, collaborating with content creators and designers to ensure cohesive narratives, and managing our media library so every powerful moment is preserved and accessible.
You might be a great fit if
You see stories in every frame and can craft them into compelling narratives. You understand platform-specific content—what works on Instagram versus YouTube versus TikTok. You're passionate about education, technology, and showing the world that learning can be beautiful, inspiring, and deeply human. You want your editing to do more than look good—you want it to spark curiosity and connection.
What you will get out of this
This is a chance to build a portfolio that showcases real impact. You'll gain hands-on experience editing for multiple platforms while documenting breakthrough moments in STEM education. You'll work with a creative team that values your artistic vision, and you'll see your edits inspire students, parents, and educators across the Greater Bay Area to join our movement.
Why this role matters
The moments we capture become the inspiration for others. Without skilled editing that honors the energy, emotion, and excellence of our community, those stories get lost. Your work ensures that when someone watches our content, they don't just see an event—they feel the excitement, imagine themselves participating, and understand why KBI matters.
