Volunteer Assistant Soccer Coach — Hollywood PAL

Help make a difference in the lives of Hollywood PAL youth through soccer!

Hollywood PAL is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Volunteer Assistant Soccer Coach to support our youth soccer program. This is an opportunity to use your passion for soccer to help young people build confidence, teamwork, resilience, and healthy lifelong habits.

When:

Wednesdays, 5:30–7:30 PM

Saturdays, 1:00–6:00 PM

Sessions take place in the Hollywood area.

Why Volunteer?

Hollywood PAL supports youth in under-resourced Los Angeles communities by providing positive, safe, and supportive opportunities to grow. Many of the kids we serve face challenging life circumstances and benefit from caring adults who can provide encouragement, consistency, mentorship, and positive outlets.

Through soccer, you can help youth develop not only their athletic skills, but also important life skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, communication, perseverance, and self-confidence.

What You'll Do:

• Help lead soccer drills, exercises, and skills development during practices.
• Assist with organizing and instructing games
• Demonstrate and reinforce good sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior
• Encourage youth participation and help create a supportive and safe team environment
• Provide positive mentorship and encouragement to players.
• Work collaboratively with the lead coach and other volunteers.

What's Required:

• Basic knowledge and understanding of soccer drills and plays with some prior experience in coaching soccer.
• Interest in coaching, mentoring, or working with youth.
• Ability to work respectfully with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Positive, patient, and encouraging attitude.
• Reliability and willingness to commit consistently to program hours.
• Preferably also speak Spanish
