About Daisy's Legacy
Daisy's Legacy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving animal welfare through advocacy, education, rescue support, and direct assistance programs. We work to help animals in need while supporting responsible pet ownership and stronger protections for companion animals.
Position Summary
Daisy's Legacy is seeking a compassionate and organized Rescue Coordinator to oversee and expand our rescue efforts. This volunteer leadership role will coordinate animal rescue cases from intake through placement while working closely with fosters, adopters, shelters, rescues, transport volunteers, and veterinary partners.
The Rescue Coordinator will play a critical role in helping save lives and ensuring animals receive the care and support they need.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate rescue cases and animal intake requests
- Communicate with shelters, rescues, fosters, and adopters
- Assist with foster recruitment and placement
- Coordinate transportation and transfer logistics
- Help identify veterinary and medical resources for rescued animals
- Maintain rescue records and case tracking
- Support adoption and rehoming efforts
- Develop rescue procedures and best practices
- Build relationships with rescue partners and animal welfare organizations
- Assist with emergency rescue and urgent animal welfare cases as needed
Qualifications
- Passion for animal welfare and rescue work
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities
- Comfortable working with volunteers, adopters, and partner organizations
- Experience in animal rescue, fostering, shelter operations, or veterinary settings is a plus but not required
