House Parent

Overview: Volunteer house parents are the first to greet families on program nights. House parents work in teams of 2 to 4 individuals helping to prepare our program space for service of dinner, serve pizza to families, and assisting with tidying up our facility. This position includes an easy learn as you go training process.

Basics:​​

Help set up and serve pizza and dessert to children and their families, then assist with facility clean up

Minimum of one (1) evening a month for two (2) hours (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)

Training: come in and observe for a couple of nights. It’s really that easy!

Qualifications:​​

Must be at least 16 years old with a desire to support children and families who have experienced a death

Be able to work as a team member

Willing to interact with families and other volunteers

Agree to criminal background check prior to assuming duties

Be trustworthy working in a confidential environment​

Time Commitment:​​

Two (2) hours on designated evening peer-support group nights
