Humanity Pathways Global (HPG) is a mission-driven nonprofit organization operating a fiscal sponsorship and community impact ecosystem focused on equitable access to education, economic mobility, and social justice. As HPG continues to scale programs, sponsored projects, and partnerships, strong people operations, compliance infrastructure, and workforce systems are essential to sustaining impact and trust.

    Position Summary

The HR Operations Manager is responsible for executing, operationalizing, and maintaining HPG’s people operations infrastructure in alignment with the organization’s strategic workforce vision established by the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).

This role serves as the primary owner of HR systems, processes, documentation, compliance calendars, and operational workflows, ensuring that policies and practices designed at the executive level are consistently implemented, auditable, and scalable across staff, volunteers, and sponsored projects.

The HR Operations Manager is both hands-on and systems-oriented, translating strategy into day-to-day execution while partnering closely with the CHRO and other HR functional leads.

    HR Operations & Infrastructure Execution

    • Implement, maintain, and continuously improve HR operational workflows aligned with CHRO-defined people strategy
    • Manage HR records, documentation, and file governance for staff, volunteers, interns, contractors, and fellows
    • Support HRIS administration, data integrity, access controls, and reporting readiness
    • Maintain standardized onboarding and offboarding processes across all workforce segments
    • Ensure consistent application of HR SOPs across programs and sponsored projects

    Policy Implementation & Compliance Operations

    • Operationalize HR policies, procedures, handbooks, and SOPs developed by the CHRO and Policy & Compliance function
    • Maintain HR compliance calendars (policy reviews, acknowledgments, training renewals, audits)
    • Support internal audits, funder reviews, and compliance checks related to workforce practices
    • Monitor operational adherence to federal, state, and nonprofit employment standards
    • Coordinate documentation related to role classifications, volunteer agreements, and acknowledgments

    Process Improvement & Scalability

    • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and risk areas in people processes
    • Propose and implement process improvements aligned with CHRO strategy
    • Help prepare HR systems and documentation for organizational growth, new sponsored projects, and expanded programs

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Experience in HR operations, people operations, or HR administration
    • Working knowledge of HR compliance and nonprofit best practices
    • Strong organizational, documentation, and process-management skills
    • High level of discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a distributed team

    Preferred

    • Experience supporting volunteer-based or hybrid workforces
    • Familiarity with HRIS platforms and digital documentation systems
    • Exposure to audit readiness, compliance tracking, or funder reporting
    • Comfort operating in early-stage or scaling nonprofit environments
