NESA-Africa / EduAid-Africa — Volunteer Vacancies
Africa's Education Enablers: Seven-Week Continental Webinar Series
Two separate roles for the webinar track specifically — Presenter and Management. They work together but are listed and applied for independently, since they require different skills and different levels of ongoing commitment.
VACANCY 1 — Volunteer Webinar Presenter
Role title: Webinar Presenter — Africa's Education Enablers Series Reports to: Webinar Series Manager Location: Remote (live virtual presenting) Commitment: Per-session — choose one or more of the seven weeks below Time per session: ~3–4 hours total (pre-session briefing, live session, short post-session debrief)
About the role
The Presenter is the face and voice of a single webinar episode — welcoming the audience, introducing guests, guiding the live conversation, keeping time across segments, and closing the session by connecting the discussion back to the NESA-Africa recognition pathway it supports. This is a hosting role, not a production role — presenters are not expected to manage the technical side of the broadcast (that's covered by Management and the separate Production role).
What you'll actually do
- Join a short briefing call ahead of your session to review the topic, guest list, and running order.
- Open and close the live session, introduce each guest/segment, and keep the conversation on schedule.
- Ask prepared and follow-up questions that draw out concrete, specific answers rather than generalities.
- Close the session with a clear call to action tied to that week's award categories (how a listener can nominate someone, apply, or get involved).
- Take part in a brief post-session debrief with Management to flag anything for the write-up.
Choose your week(s)
Apply for one week, several, or the whole series — indicate your preference and we'll confirm based on availability and fit.

What we're looking for
- Confident, clear speaking voice and comfort leading a live virtual conversation.
- Genuine interest in African education — you don't need to be a subject expert in every week's topic, but you should be a strong facilitator.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet space to present from.
- Available for the pre-session briefing, not just the live slot itself.
How to apply
Apply via the NESA-Africa Idealist listing or the volunteer form on nesa.africa. Note your preferred week(s) and, if you have one, a short example of previous hosting/presenting experience (a link is fine — a formal reel is not required).

If you're selected: you'll develop a 2-hour interactive script for your session — built to keep both the panel and the live audience genuinely engaged through the FGD-style discussion segments, and structured so the conversation naturally promotes the specific award categories under that week's topic, not just mentions them once at the end.
Instructions for Interested Volunteers
Africa's Education Enablers — Webinar & Podcast Series
How to apply, for each of the four roles. Read the instructions for the specific role(s) you're interested in — you're welcome to apply for more than one.
WEBINAR PRESENTER — How to Apply
- Review the schedule. Look at the seven weekly topics and pick the one (or ones) you're genuinely most interested in — you'll be asked why, so choose based on real interest, not just availability.
- Answer the two short application questions (which week(s) draw you in and what you'd ask that hasn't been covered; a time a live conversation didn't go to plan and what you did).
- Submit your application via the NESA-Africa Idealist listing or the volunteer form at nesa.africa, noting your preferred week(s) clearly at the top of your response.
- If shortlisted, you'll be invited to a short call with the Webinar Series Manager to confirm fit and your chosen week.
- If confirmed, you'll be asked to develop a 2-hour interactive session script — this is a real working task, not a formality, and it's how we confirm you're ready to host live.
- You'll receive a briefing pack ahead of your session with guest details, running order, and the categories your week promotes.
