Two Daughters Foundation is seeking an empathetic, personable, and organized individual to help facilitate our virtual peer grief support groups in Northern California. Two Daughters Foundation's peer grief support groups are available to young adults (ages 18-39) who are navigating the loss of a parent or parental figure.
Our Northern California group has been running for two and a half years by the Two Daughters Foundation founder and Executive Director, Shannon Bell. Prospective facilitators will be required to submit an application, attend an interview, if requested, and, if selected, complete a training on peer support group facilitation. The chosen facilitator will be supported during their first meetings by an experienced facilitator.
Facilitators are not required to have a professional background in mental health care. Facilitators are required to have an understanding of the grieving process, whether personal or professional, and have some experience in facilitation.
The Northern California peer support group currently meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm. This time is flexible based on the availability of the facilitator and participants.
