WorkFour Colorado is building the movement for a 32-hour workweek in our colorful state. We've discovered that some companies have implemented a 32-hour workweek, because one of their employees used their PTO every Friday for a month and saw the benefits. We need you to persuade other employees to do the same.
💡 What You’ll Do
- Conduct research on companies that implemented a 32-hour workweek because one of their employees used their PTO every Friday. Contact those employees for advice.
- Come up with a plan to make sure the employees will not get fired (i.e. record conversations with your boss, study labor rights within the state, etc.)
- Work within your "W4 Rebellious Employee Committee" to brainstorm ideas/share the workload
Draft outreach messages and proposals:
- Instead of contacting individual employees, try reaching out to community groups and host a PowerPoint presentation/brochure at their meetings
- Try reaching out to mutual aid groups, local political parties, fraternity orgs, etc.
- Invite guests (either in-person or on Zoom) who strategically used their PTO
- Take photos while at the event and send them to the "Social Media Management Committee"
- Collect quantitative data
- Note: we are currently trying to recruit a lawyer to help protect the rights of the employees, in case they are fired without cause. If you can find a labor rights lawyer yourself, that would be awesome!
