Grant Writer / Grant Manager

We are seeking a Volunteer Grant Writer/Manager to help us expand our lifesaving work through new and recurring funding opportunities. This is a meaningful way to make a direct impact on rescue operations — from medical care and transport to community outreach and education.

🐕 Responsibilities

• Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government programs
• Draft and submit compelling grant proposals
• Maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements
• Collaborate with AAHA leadership to gather program data, success stories, and financial information
• Prepare follow-up reports for awarded grants to ensure compliance and continued eligibility

🎯 Ideal Candidate

• Strong writing, research, and organizational skills
• Previous grant writing or nonprofit experience preferred (but not required)
• Passion for animal welfare and saving lives
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Comfortable communicating via email or virtual meetings
