Hospice Companion Volunteers Needed in North Kansas City & Harrisonville
Detalhes
Descrição
Sometimes the most meaningful support is simply showing up.
We are seeking compassionate volunteers to provide companionship to hospice patients in North Kansas City and the Harrisonville area. Through conversation, quiet presence, and simple shared moments, volunteers help ease loneliness and bring comfort, dignity, and human connection to people at the end of life.
What You’ll Do:
- Visit hospice patients in their homes, care facilities, or on the John Knox Village campus
- Offer companionship through conversation, listening, reading, music, or quiet presence
- Provide emotional support through simple, consistent human connection
- Support patients and families by helping reduce isolation
Who We’re Looking For:
- Caring, dependable volunteers who value presence over perfection
- Strong listeners who can meet people where they are
- Individuals comfortable with silence, story-sharing, or simply sitting together
- Volunteers able to maintain confidentiality and respect boundaries
Time Commitment:
Typically 3–4 visits per month. Volunteers looking for additional service opportunities may choose to visit more than one patient, allowing for a deeper impact and greater involvement.
Training & Support:
No hospice experience is required. We provide full training, ongoing support, and guidance so you feel confident and prepared.
Why It Matters:
Many hospice patients face their final chapter feeling isolated. Your presence can change that—offering comfort, recognition, and the simple reminder that they are not alone.
If you’re looking for a meaningful way to serve your community, we would be honored to have you join us.
