Are you passionate about global affairs, human rights, and social justice? Want to contribute to a youth-led collective shedding light on critical underreported issues? Spheres of Influence is currently recruiting for various volunteer positions. This is an ideal opportunity for students, recent graduates, and young professionals to gain a meaningful experience in the field of international relations and journalism. Please note that we are entirely volunteer-based and that applicants must be within the youth age range (typically 18–35), in alignment with our organization’s identity as youth-led.

Responsibilities:

• Edit 2-3 articles a month about topics related to global affairs.
• Work closely with writers, providing them with constructive feedback, guidance, and suggestions for improvement.
• Manage the editorial schedule, track progress on assigned articles, and ensure that deadlines are met.
• Attend team meetings and workshops.

Qualifications:

• Education in international relations, politics, public relations, journalism, English history, sociology, economics is preferred.
• Demonstrated editing experience concerning issues in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, or Latin America is preferred.
• Ability to have meticulous attention to detail to catch errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in articles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to provide clear and constructive feedback to writers.
• Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
